John Krachtus, 90, of Aurora, Illinois, passed away peacefully Sunday, August 4, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loving wife and family. John was born January 26, 1934 in Kunbaja, Hungary, the cherished son of John and Regina (Klein) Krachtus.
John was united in marriage on September 10, 1960 at St. Nicholas Church in Aurora to Bertha (Lang) Krachtus and spent the next sixty three years happily together as best friends. John immigrated to the United States with his parents and brother as a young man and proudly became a U.S. Citizen where he then served his country in the United States Army. He was employed at All-Steel, Inc. for forty three years until his retirement.
John was a member of Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church.
He is survived by his loving wife Bertha; two sons, John (Cindi) Krachtus, and William (Lisa) Krachtus; eight grandchildren, Courtney Krachtus, Samantha Krachtus, Dominick Krachtus, Lindsay Krachtus, Zoe Krachtus, Jim Krachtus, Dan (Jodi) Krachtus, and Joey Krachtus; three great grandchildren; his brother, Tony (Diane) Krachtus; several nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his middle son, Frank Krachtus; and a sister in infancy, Theresa Krachtus.
Funeral service will be Friday, August 9, 2024 at 9:30 AM from THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY to Annunciation Church at 10:00 AM; Fr. Patrick Gillmeyer, O.S.B. will officiate with interment at Marywood Cemetery.
