John W. Chesnutt was born on August 23, 1943, in Loraine, Illinois.
John passed away on September 30, 2025 at the North Aurora Care Center with his surviving siblings present. He was 82 years old.
He retired from Caterpillar after 30 years of Service. He stayed home to take care of his wife Glenda who was very sick until the time of her passing.
John's hobby was fixing and selling chain saws and lawn mowers, until he had a stroke and got dementia. He then had to spend the rest of his life in a nursing home.
John is survived by his sister Doris Atwood, 2 brothers Joseph (Diane) Chesnutt and Virgil (Karina) Chesnutt; several nieces and nephews and his good friend Victor Unger.
He is preceded in death by his wife Glenda, his parents Caspar and Clara Chesnutt; brothers Loyd, Paul Eugene, James and Caspar Chesnutt; his sister Clare Irene Hitz and his companion of 17 years Brenda Dawson.
Thanks to the people at the nursing home, his special angel to care for him when Brenda passed away, his special angel that was there when he had the stroke, that he lived this long. He will be sadly missed by many.
A visitation will be held at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 N. Lake Street, Aurora, Illinois, on Friday, October 3, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted at The Daleiden Mortuary Chapel the next day, Saturday, October 4, 2025 at 10:00AM. The graveside service will immediately follow at Lincoln Memorial Park, Aurora, IL.
