John A. Carlson, Jr., 79, of North Aurora, IL went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on February 10, 1942 in Aurora, IL.
John was a man of strong faith and a member of Holy Cross Church. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. A talented bagpiper John was a proud member of the Tunes of Glory Pipes and Drums. John enjoyed history with a focus on the Civil War.
Survivors include his five children, Kevin (Rita) Carlson, Robin Carlson Pall, Tim Carlson, Jeremy (Melissa) Carlson, Carey (Ron) LaManna; thirteen grandchildren, Caitlin, Molly, Patrick, Sean, Matthew, Ryan, Gabrielle, Ivy, Taylor, Alex, Tanner, Alexis, Domenick; a sister, Maryann Mortenson; several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sue (Ederati) Carlson, his parents, John and Mary (Kott) Carlson, Sr.
Visitation will be held, Wednesday, May 5, 2021 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 North Lake Street Aurora, IL. 60506. (630) 631-5500.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 6, 2021 at 9:45 AM from THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY to Holy Cross Church at 10:30 AM; Fr. Moises Apostol will officiate with interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
In adherence to Covid-19 pandemic protocols, non-family visitors are asked to pay their respects to the family for only a few minutes and exit the funeral home in a timely fashion. Social distancing and face masks are required for those in attendance.
