Joanne E. Luetgert, 79, of Aurora, passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at her home. She was born November26, 1943 in Cheboygan, Michigan. Joanne met her husband John Luetgert while on a trip to Hawaii and they married in 1974 and together raised two sons. Together they moved to John's hometown of Aurora. They were married 49 years until John's passing in September 2022
Joanne graduated from Cheboygan Catholic High School in 1962. She then was employed at Burton Abstract where she was a very proficient typist. Joanne enjoyed working in her vegetable and flower gardens. She also loved to cook and bake, especially cookies which she would then send to her relatives. Joanne, John, and the boys loved spending time in the summer with family on Mullett Lake in Cheboygan. Joanne was faithful in always calling her siblings on birthdays and holidays. Joanne was a very devout catholic and proud Godmother of 6 family members
May she now be reunited with family and friends and may she rest in peace. Goodbye "Nusha" till we meet again
She is survived by her two sons, Joel and Jonathan Luetgert; three sisters, Marianne (Phil) Stephan, Kathleen Bricker, Michelle (John) Gildner; two brothers, Tom (Vicki) Stempky, Fred (Sue) Stempky; many nieces and nephews and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Luetgert; her parents, Stanley and Marion (Tryban) Stempky; and her sister-in-law, Leona Luetgert.
Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at 12:00 PM at St. Rita of Cascia Catholic Church, Fr. Alex Parafina will officiate. Interment will be held at 2:00 PM at Elm Lawn Cemetery 401 East Lake Street, Elmhurst, Illinois 60126.
In State visitation will be held Tuesday, April 4, 2023 from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at St. Rita of Cascia Catholic Church, 750 Old Indian Trail Road, Aurora, Illinois 60506.
