Joanne Lynn Hall, 74, of Aurora, IL passed away peacefully on April 22, 2022. Joanne was born in Chicago, IL on October 28, 1947 and graduated from Downers Grove North High School in 1965.
After beginning her career at Argonne National Laboratory, Joanne worked for over 30 years at Fermi lab in Batavia and retired in 2015 from the Procurement department as Administrative Group Supervisor.
Joanne was very proud of her service in the Kane County Mounted Patrol under the leadership of George Kramer and their participation in the Fiesta Bowl parade. Joanne loved riding horses, gardening, camping and later in life, sitting on the front porch watching the world go by with her dog Rosie.
Joanne was a devoted and loving mother who provided her daughter an exemplary model of what a strong and independent woman should be by working hard and persevering through the tough times.
Joanne will be dearly missed and is survived by her loving daughter Jennifer L. Thorson (Erik Bainbridge) of Aurora, IL, her 3 sisters: Judith Ganger of Fountain City, WI, Jeanine "Nina" French (Dennis) of Sydney, IL, Julie Sue Zieche (John) of Oswego, IL and many nieces and nephews.
Joanne was preceded in death by her father Richard Conkey, her mother, Ruth Conkey (nee Carlson), her former husband and friend J. Michael Hall and her half-brother Ricky.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 26 2022 from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 North Lake Street, Aurora, Illinois 630-631-5500.
Funeral services and interment will be private.
