Jeanine Marie Tweedy of Aurora passed away peacefully on April 16, 2026, at the age
of 84 surrounded by her family.
Jeanine was a lifelong resident of Aurora. After raising her children, she enjoyed her
career as a teacher's assistant at Marie Wilkinson Center, Dietrich, and Bardwell
Elementary Schools. She was big fan of Patrick Mahomes with the Kansas City Chiefs.
She felt a special bond with him since they shared the same birthday on September
17 th . I am sure it was no coincidence that she also passed away at 9:17 pm. She also
loved to watch golf and her favorite golfer was Scottie Scheffler probably due to his
good looks.
Jeanine was a joy to be around. Her sense of humor and kind, sweet spirit were what
people loved most about her. She had a close bond with all her family, and she loved
reminiscing about her early days growing up on Spring Street where she lived close to
her grandparents, aunts and uncles, and many cousins. They would take many family
trips together which were probably her most precious memories.
She was married to the late Gerald "Jerry" Tweedy on April 6, 1976. She and Jerry
shared nearly 45 happy years together fishing, playing cards, traveling, and building
wonderful friendships at their permanent campsites at Ayer's Landing and later at
Mallard Bend Campground in Sheridan. They were also lifelong members of the 3rd
Ward Social Club in Aurora. Together they served on many boards and social
committees.
She is survived by her children, James (Tina) Ginther, Kelly (Gary) Michelson, and Jeff
(Karen) Ginther; her stepchildren, Lynda Berkland, James Berry, John Tweedy, and
Robert (Sandy) Tweedy; brother Rodney Hilger, sister, Cindy Gates, as well as many
grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Jeanine is now reunited in heaven with loved ones who preceded her in death including
her husband Jerry, son Denny Ginther, stepdaughter Connie Berry, parents Ray and
Arlene Hilger, sisters Mary Ann Latino, and Sherry Hilger, brother-in-law Paul Latino,
sister-in-law Pat Hilger, and nephew Rocky Latino.
A special thank you to Jeff and Karen for opening their home and caring for Mom for
over three years. There she enjoyed the companionship of family, yummy meals, and a
beautiful view of the Fox River.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 25, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Daleiden
Mortuary (220 N. Lake St., Aurora). Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m., with
Pastor Glen Morden officiating. Burial will take place at Lincoln Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice or to Lightways
Hospice Care in Joliet.
