Janet R. Gibson, 74, of Aurora, passed away Monday, April 4, 2022 in her home. She was born in Aurora July 20, 1947, the daughter of Leo and Betty (Hammond) Lakeman.
Janet was a graduate of East Aurora High School in 1965.
She worked for Nabisco, the Internal Revenue Service, and tended bar in several places before becoming a dealer for Hollywood Casino in both Aurora and Joliet.
Janet was a member of the Turner Club and the Aurora Moose Lodge.
Janet enjoyed quilting, crocheting, playing cards (especially with her sisters), and most of all spending time with her family. She was devoted to her Yorkies Baby and Gigi.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her son Scott (Lana) Walgren of Montgomery; two grandchildren Tyler and Taylor; three sisters Sandi (Bob) Johnson of Hinckley, Diane (Steve) Nehring of Hinckley, and Linda (Steve) Fuechsl of Carol Stream; one brother Lee (Darlyne) Lakeman of Sandwich; her partner Jim Wenzowski of Aurora; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 11, 2022 at 12:00 PM at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, Fr. Timothy Piasecki will officiate with interment at Marywood Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Monday April 11, 2022 from 10:00 AM until the 12:00 PM at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 North Lake Street, Aurora, Illinois 630-631-5500.
