James E. Nickels, 67, of Elmwood Park, Illinois formerly of Aurora, passed away October 30, 2023 at his home. He was born November 24, 1955 in Aurora, Illinois.
James was a graduate of Our Lady of Good Counsel School, Aurora Central Catholic High School, and Northern Illinois University. James worked in the banking industry in Dekalb, Aurora and Elmwood Park. He was an avid sports fan especially the Chicago Bulls and Blackhawks. James is survived by his siblings Sister Judith A. Nickels of Aurora, Joseph J. (Katherine) Nickels, Jr. of Edgerton, WI, Joan (Dale) Hoorelbek of Aurora, Gerard J. (Karen) Nickels of Aurora, Mary Russell of Montgomery, and Thomas A. (Cynthia) Nickels of Montgomery; and the children, grand-children, and great-grandchildren of his siblings who were so dear to him.
James was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Jeanne Nickels; his sister, Jean Marie Nickels and one great-nephew.
