James Steven Baker, 79, passed away on January 23, 2023, at his home in Aurora, Illinois with his partner of 42 years Cathy Fansler, and his son Michael at his bedside.

Jim entered this world on March 14, 1943, the second son of George and Anna (Maksomowicz) Baker. The family moved to Wood Dale in 1956 when he was 13. He graduated from Fenton High School in 1961.

Jim married Shirley Markarian on February 11, 1967, and they had two sons and one daughter Brenda. He worked at several companies before retiring from Jel Sert in West Chicago, as a machine maintenance man.

Jim is survived by Cathy and his sons, Michael (Laura) and Matthew; his grandson Matthew, and his granddaughter Brenda.

Jim is also survived by his brother Charles Baker; and his sister Sheron (Martin) Thomen; nieces Kimberly (Daniel) and Sheron (Rey).
He was preceded in death by a stepdaughter Brenda; his parents; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
