Obituary

Jack (John) Harold Glassford, 91, of Aurora, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 4, 2022.
Jack was born on May 21, 1931, in Aurora, the son of Stanley and Catherine (Dillenburg) Glassford. Jack was joined in marriage to Carole J. Tintinger on September 25, 1954, in Aurora.
Jack graduated from East Aurora High School in 1949. He served the U.S. Navy Amphibious Force aboard the LST 306 as a Damage Control Petty Officer during the Korean War and received an honorable discharge in 1953. In April of 2016, Jack participated in the Honor Flight from Chicago to Washington D.C.
Jack was a plumber for 43 years working for various plumbing contractors throughout the Fox Valley. He was a proud Union Member for over 60 years with Locals 319, 501, and 130.
Jack was a member of Annunciation Church for over 50 years often serving as an usher. He was also a member of the U.S. LST Association, Montgomery VFW #7452, Oswego VFW #0675, and the FVPD Friendly Center Club.
Jack is survived by his three children: Beth (Paul) Kluber of Aurora, Greg (Tracey) Glassford of Aurora, and Brad Glassford of North Carolina; his five grandchildren Ryan (Emily) Kluber of Aurora, Brittany (Keenan) Fitzgerald of North Carolina, Todd (Amanda) Kluber of Plainfield, Amy Kluber (Charlie Hoehn) of Carol Stream and Bradley Glassford of North Carolina; four great-grandchildren Bennett Kluber, Estelle Kluber, Aaron Kluber, and Lilia Kluber.
Jack is preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Carole; his parents; and his sister Jeanne Maytum.

The family would like to thank the staff at Avantara Aurora and Alexian Brothers Hospice for their compassion and care for Jack on his final journey.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at 12:00 PM at Annunciation Catholic Church in Aurora with the Rev. Patrick Gillmeyer, OSB, officiating. Burial will follow with Military Honors at Marywood Cemetery in Aurora.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 11:00 AM until time of service in the church.
