Helen M. Miller

Helen Mary (Bartosovic) Miller, 95 of Aurora, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday morning, October 19, 2014. She was born November 15, 1918 in Chicago. Helen grew up with her parents and fourteen brothers and sisters on the West side of Chicago and attended Sacred Heart Grade School. While in Muskegon, MI, at the age of 15, Helen was shot out of a canon, while in the Buster Keaton Vaudeville, marking this as one of the highlights of her life. Five years later she met the love of her life, Joseph Miller whom she married at 22 years old. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church while raising her family and living in “The Back of the Yards” neighborhood. They resided in Addison while she was employed by Reliable Electric, where she worked for 25 years until her retirement in 1978. Helen was a member of Holy Cross Church in Batavia and adored the pastor, Fr. Parker. She loved her family deeply and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Survivors include her two beloved daughters, Gerraldine Mary (Ernie) Orlando and Janet Julianna Miller; 11 grandchildren, Ernest Orlando Jr, Lisa (Gary) Wong, Andrew Joseph Froula, Jennifer Mary (Mike) Weber, Stephen Timothy Froula, Mary Catherine Froula, Grace Hull, Anjolie Hull, Charlotte Hull, Emily Froula and Jordan Froula; her sister Bertha Saiz; her long time dearest friend, Viola Hambel and her dear friends from Tri-City Dialysis whom she was known as, “Helen of Troy” and “Cannonball”. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Miller; her parents John and Julie (Mrvec) Bartosovic and by her brothers and sisters, Josephena Florence, Magdeline Pariso, Mary Nowack, Julia Bartosovic, Joseph Jankovic, John Jankovic Julius Bartosovic and Stephen Bartosovic. Funeral mass will be offered on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at 10:30 am at Holy Cross Church, Batavia, IL, where she will lie in state from 9:15am until the funeral hour. Fr. James Parker will officiate with interment in Marywood Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 21, 2014 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 N. Lake St. Aurora, IL. 60506.
