Felicita L. Mendoza, 95, of Aurora, passed away Monday, July 15, 2024 at Prairie Point Assisted Living in Sugar Grove, IL. She was born November 23, 1928 in Arecibo, Puerto Rico.
Felicita was a very loving and caring mom, grandma, and great grandma to her entire family. She loved all genres of music especially Latin music and everyone would find her singing and smiling whenever they saw her. Felicita was an extremely hard working woman and enjoyed cooking until she was 93 years old. No matter what was going on in her life, she always found time to cook for her family. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by six children Irma (John) Gonzalez of Aurora, Efrain "Frank" (Evelyn) Mendoza of Aurora, Rafael Mendoza of Michigan, Nereida Gonzalez of Aurora, Israel "Izzy" (Karen) Mendoza of Plano, and Arcides (Laura) Mendoza of North Aurora; 23 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Manuel Mendoza; her parents Juanita (Ruiz) and Primitivo Lopez; her son-in-law Edictor "Eddie" Gonzalez; and 14 brothers and sisters.
Funeral from THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY will be Friday, July 19, 2024 at 9:30am to St. Therese Church at 10:00am. Fr. Timothy Piasecki will officiate with interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 18, 2024 from 3:00pm until 7:00pm at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 N. Lake St., Aurora, 630-631-5500.
Felicita's family wishes to extend a very special thank you to all of the staff at Prairie Point, the Hospice team and all the residents there for all of the friendship, care and compassion that was shown to Felicita and her family while she was in their care.
