Expedito Barocio, 87, of Aurora passed away Saturday, May 10, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 19, 1938 in Mexico.

Expedito's journey was one of courage, and resilience. He came to the United States in the late 1960s, seeking opportunity, and worked in California as a migrant worker. He built a life not only for himself but for his family. Settling in Aurora, Illinois, he created a home filled with love, strength, and sacrifice.

In 1975, he married the love of his life, and together they raised four children—each of whom carries forward his values of dedication and kindness. He worked tirelessly, never seeking recognition, but always ensuring his family had the best life he could provide. He poured his heart into his work. His humble spirit was a guiding light, and his devotion extended beyond his immediate family—to his brothers and sister in Mexico, whom he held dear.

Though he may no longer walk among us, his legacy will continue in the lives he touched, in the lessons he taught, and in the love he instilled in his family. His story will be told for generations, and his spirit will never fade. May we honor his memory the values he lived by: humility, hard work, and love. Rest in peace, Expedito.

Expedito was devoted member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church. He was employed for twenty five years as a machinist at Burgess Norton until his retirement. After retiring he continued to work as a dedicated owner and landlord of several Aurora area properties. He was an avid gardener. His greatest love was his family, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother, he will be dearly missed by those who loved him.

He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Maria (Contreras) Barocio; four children, Sylvia (Bobby) Green, Expedito (Patty) Barocio, Jr., Alex (Aisha) Barocio, Marysol Barocio; nine grandchildren, Sofia Barocio, Sebastian Barocio, Samantha Barocio, Gabriella Montes, Lalo Montes, Mariah Barocio, Nathaniel Marson, Hendrix Green, Maya Green; a sister, Julia Barocio; three brothers, Gonzalo Barocio, Elias Barocio, Arnulfo (Silvina) Barocio; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Benito and Josefa (Contreras) Barocio; two sisters, Corina Cuevas, Natividad Alvarez; and a brother, Nazario Alvarez.

Funeral services will be held, Friday, May 16, 2025 at 9:30 AM from THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY to Our Lady of Good Counsel Church at 10:00 AM, Fr. Andrew Mulcahey will officiate with interment at Lincoln Memorial Park.
