Edward G Dieser, 89 of Aurora passed away peacefully July 11, 2024 surrounded by family at Bickford Assisted Living in Aurora.
Ed was born in Aurora on August 21, 1934 to Katherine (Bauer) and Fredrick Dieser. He was a life-long member of St Joseph Catholic Parish. He attended St Joseph grade school, Marmion, and graduated from East Aurora High School. He served our country as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne.
Ed married the love of his life Carol DeSotell, August 6, 1955. They were married 62 years and enjoyed many wonderful travels in the US and abroad, and wintered in Texas for 20 years after his retirement from Nicor Gas after 38 years of employment.
Ed was an avid and very talented golfer and bowler. His love for golf began at the age of 12 as a caddie at Aurora Country Club. By age 16 he earned the position of caddie master. His love of the game never changed. His many trophies and 7 holes in one were proof. Winning the Cow Sucks and Phoenix Club outings with his wife Carol were a couple of his favorite victories. Taking a few dollars from his buddies on the golf course or playing poker and gin rummy was also an enjoyment.
The only thing Ed loved more than golf was God, his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and his extended family.
He was a great friend to many. He had a few favorite sayings but the one he used most was to "Remember to be kind because we are all different."
He is survived by his daughter Dori (Buzz) Oros, son, Admiral Ed (Avril) Dieser, Granddaughters, Georgia (Tim) Kovanda, Carly Oros, Adele Dieser. Great Grandchildren James, Rose and Addison Kovanda. Sisters Ann Brouch and Barb Day and Sister in laws Jeune (John) Dieterle and Sharron Bennett and Brother in law Bob (Judy) DeSotell as well as many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
Rest in Peace Champ!
He was preceded in death by his Grandson Edward L Dieser and his wife Carol. Sisters Natalie Dieser, Rose Petesch, Margaret Baumann and Kay Kobor. Brothers John and Jake Dieser. Sister in law Elaine Blake.
