Dorothy Loretta Helgren, 89, passed away Monday, January 3, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born June 21, 1932 in Aurora, IL.
Dorothy was a devoted member of St. Anne Catholic Church for over sixty years, and was active in the St. Anne Society. She was employed by Western Electric, AT&T and she retired from Power Trends. She enjoyed ceramics, reading, and playing solitaire. Dorothy and her husband John loved watching sports on television together. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, friend, and neighbor. She had an incredible sense of humor and she will be missed by all who loved her.
She is survived by her husband, John Helgren; her three children, Tim (Terri) Helgren, Mary Jane (David Fleming) Helgren, Susan (Donald) Lee; two siblings, Maryann Fox, Ed Soris; five grandchildren, Rikki (Justin) Sprosty, Mackenzie (Erik) Coombs, Michaela (Jon) Olson, Stone (Bekah) Klema, Madisyn Klema; six great grandchildren, Peyton, Brynlee, and Huxten Sprosty, Warner and Arlo Coombs, Owen Olson; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Alexander and Anna (Wenkus) Soris; her infant daughter, Theresa Ann Helgren; her brother, Richard Soris.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 9:15 AM from THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY to St. Anne Catholic Church at 10:00 AM; Fr. Dan Stempora will officiate. Interment will be private.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 7, 2022 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 N. Lake Street, Aurora, 630-631-5500. Due to Covid-19 pandemic protocols, face masks are required for those in attendance at the funeral home and at church.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Dorothy's name may be made to the Kendall County Food Pantry.
