Donald Thilges of Aurora, IL passed away on December 14, 2025. He was born on October 21, 1934 in Chicago, IL.

Donald cherished every moment spent with his family, especially their memorable trips to Disney. He served proudly in the Illinois Air National Guard Reserves and was respected for his skill and craftsmanship as a talented carpenter. Donald retired in 1995 after a long and dedicated career with the Chicago Council of Carpentry Union.

A lifelong member of Annunciation Church in Aurora, he also found spiritual enrichment attending services at Marmion Abbey. Donald had a deep love for the outdoors and nature, where he found peace and joy throughout his life.

Donald is survived by his Children; Laura (Bill) Mueller, Donald F. (Nansi) Thilges, Grandchildren; Matt (Sasha) Mueller, Mark (Terra) Mueller, Zachary (Abby) Thilges, Brandon Thilges, Natalie Thilges, Great-Grandchildren; Logan, Aliyah, Anthony, Blake, and Caleb.

He was preceded in death by both his Parents; John and Angela (Jung) Thilges, Wife; Caroline Thilges, Siblings; John (Jean) Thilges, Marie (Arlen) Trepanier, and numerous close friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday December, 19, 2025 at The Daleiden Mortuary from 4-7PM. The funeral service will take place at Annunciation Church in Aurora, IL on Saturday December, 20, 2025 at 10AM. The burial will follow at Marywood Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in Donald's honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
