Daniel T. Groom, 74, of Aurora, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2022 at Rush Copley Medical Center. He was born May 31, 1947 in Aurora, Illinois.
Daniel attended Sacred Heart and Hope D. Wall Schools. He was a devoted member of Sacred Heart Church and later St. Mary Church. He was employed at Master Ceramics, Anixter Wire, Rich Wrap and Pet Smart where he retired. Daniel loved being with his friends and family at Jennings Terrace where he enjoyed being a member of the Squirrels travel bean bag baseball team, and participated in the Bags World Series Tournament. While at Jennings Terrace he also enjoyed participating in the daily activities including helping with flower arrangements, playing bingo and pool, walking the therapy dog.
He is survived by his two brothers, James (Dorothy) Groom, Michael (Elizabeth) Groom; numerous nieces and nephews, many great nieces and nephews and several great great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Phillip and Margaret (Shepard) Groom; three sisters, Frances Groom, Patricia (late James) Suter, Margaret Morales; a brother, Richard (late Frances) Groom; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at 12:30 PM from THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY to St. Mary Church at 1:00 PM; Fr. Timothy Piasecki will officiate with interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Monday, April 25, 2022 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 North Lake Street, Aurora, Illinois 630-631-5500.
Memorial contributions may be made in Daniel's name to Jennings Terrace or St. Mary Church.
