Obituary

Marty (Clifford Martin) Lyle was born in Elkhorn, WI on Aug. 5th 1957, and passed away suddenly on February 7th, 2021. Marty grew up in Elburn, and attended Kaneland High School, Class of 1976. He enjoyed playing football, basketball and track; and was inducted into Kaneland's Hall of Fame in 2015 for his achievements in track and field. Upon graduating, Marty enlisted in the United States Navy, serving his country from October of 1977 until October of 1981. He was united in marriage to Erin Kathleen McNamee on July 13th, 1991, and spent 29 happily married years together.
With his wife, Erin, Marty owned and operated Marty's Automotive in Aurora for 22 years. He treated his customers as family, and developed great friendships with many of them. Above all, Marty enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and was always there without question to help, whenever anyone needed a hand. He loved to spend the day riding his Harley; and was happy to organize and lead rides to raise money for his favorite charity, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
Marty is survived by his wife, Erin, mother June Nolan, sons Michael (Selina) Lyle, Doug (Jen) Lyle, and Brett (Jordan) Lyle; his grandchildren, Orion, Mathias, Azariah, Nehemiah, Jacob, Quinn, Grace, Hudson, and Peyton; sisters, Jenny (Rich) Angell, Penny (Jim) Harner, Holly (Vern) Heintz, and Kathy Lyle; sister-in-laws Shannon (Dave) Savini, Regan Barrett, brother in-law, James (Cynthia) McNamee, many cousins, nieces and nephews, and a great many friends that were like family to him.
Marty is preceded in death by his father, Clifford Lyle, Sr. and brother, Scott Lyle.
