Catherine "Kay, Kate, Cathy" Helen Boehme, 92, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at the home of her daughter Cathy after a brave battle with dementia. Catherine was born on September 27, 1930 in Ecorse, Michigan. She was the daughter of Harry and Annie (Molloy) McCluskey, the last of six children.
Catherine was raised by nuns in Maryville orphanage after her mother died when she was five years old. She was a strong and independent soul. She loved to sing and dance and crack jokes. She believed any conversation was better rhymed.
A devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother, Catherine will be loved, cherished and missed by many.
Catherine is survived by her children, Patty (Tim) Ellis, Cathy Stuebinger, and Linda Stuebinger; grandchildren, Amy Pirtle-Curtis, Jay (Kim) Ellis, Josh Ellis, Christina (Fiancé Jarod Pranno) Ellis, and Miranda Ellis; great grandchildren, Austin Ellis, Gavin Ellis, and Jessica Curtis; step children, Tom Boehme, Larry Boehme, and Marie Libby.
Preceding her in death are her beloved husband, August "Dude" Boehme and former husband, Richard Stuebinger; sons, Steven and Richard Stuebinger; brothers, Patrick and James McCluskey; sisters, Mary Neill Chapman, Margaret Chambers, and Theresa O'Conner Weiss.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at 1:00 PM at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 North Lake Street, Aurora, 630-631-5500. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
