Obituary

Carl Fredrick Schindlbeck, 66 of North Aurora, IL. Passed away Thursday, October 19, 2023, at Rush-Copley Medical Center. He was born February 6, 1957, in Aurora, IL.
Carl was an area resident for his entire life and graduated from Aurora Central Catholic High School in 1975. He was a lifelong member of the IBEW461 serving as past President and as an assistant B.A. Carl's support, dedication and leadership skills were outstanding in everything he was involved in especially as a member of the Aurora Turner's Club, the Phoenix Club and the Luxembourg Club, where he was on the board for many years. He was known too many as "coffeecake Carl." He enjoyed crafting and creating flowers out of tin cans and many of them can be seen throughout Aurora and were often sold to raise money for ALS. He was a lifelong Cubs fan. He loved attending car shows and won numerous trophies with his 1969 Camaro.
Carl was a very humble man, never wanting recognition for his many acts of kindness. Including his yearly Christmas bell ringing for the Salvation Army kettles, his yearly position of serving Thanksgiving dinner to the less fortunate, and the countless meals he bought for friends and strangers when visiting many restaurants.
He is survived by his beloved daughter Miranda (Tony Espinoza) Siebert of Phoenix, AZ, his son Paul Goodyear and daughter Amanda Goodyear; six brothers and sisters Jerry (Rosemary) Schindlbeck, Jean Hilger, Richard "Dick" (Sharon) Schindlbeck, Marie (Joe) Pierce, Joyce Schindlbeck; and Janet (Mike) Dellorto; his sister-in-law Susan Schindlbeck; three grandchildren Kai, Luka, and Emiri Goodyear; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, loving cousins and many lifelong friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Herta (Fuchs) and George Schindlbeck, his brother Tom Schindlbeck, two nephews William and Andre Schindlbeck; and his brother-in-law Paul "Bud" Hilger, Jr.
