Betty L. Fitzsimmons, age 93, of Greencastle, IN, passed away Tuesday, March 16th, 2021.
She was born August 29, 1927 to Mary Louise (Adams) Forbes and Richard Dean Forbes, both from Aurora.
Betty attended high school and college in Aurora, IL. She married Richard F. Fitzsimmons, a Chief Petty Officer in the Navy in 1952 and together they raised two Children.
She was a member of the Navy Club of Fort Wayne, IN, and for a time was Commandant of the Auxiliary, the Women's Traffic Club of Indy while working 17 years at Navajo Trucking Co. Betty and her husband, after his retirement, were Managers and Caretakers of Dogwood Springs Campgrounds in Cloverdale.
She is survived by her daughter, Denise A. (Joseph) McKamey; her daughter-in-law, Wanda Fitzsimmons; her sister, Patricia A. Smith; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Richard F. Fitzsimmons; her son, Richard M. Fitzsimmons; her step-father, Ralph Millen; and two half-brothers, Wayne Millen and Ralph Millen.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at 12:00 PM at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, Deacon Tim White will officiate with interment at Elmwood Cemetery in Yorkville, IL.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 23, 2021 from 10:00 AM until time of service at 12:00 PM at the DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 North Lake Street, Aurora, Il 60506. 630-631-5500
Due to Covid-19 pandemic protocols, non-family visitors are asked to pay their respects to the family for only a few minutes and exit the funeral home in a timely fashion. Social distancing and face masks are required for those in attendance.
