Bernice Konen passed away peacefully on April 25, 2026, in Aurora, Illinois.

She was born on November 6, 1932, in Batavia, Illinois, to Mathew and Josephine (Gerten) Konen. Bernice was deeply loved by her family, and she returned that love wholeheartedly. Though she had no children of her own, she cherished her nieces and nephews.

Bernice found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved playing poker, enjoyed rounds of Bingo, and had a fondness for visiting casinos and dining out. A devoted member of St. Rita of Cascia Catholic Church in Aurora, Bernice lived her faith with quiet strength and dedication. She will be remembered for her loving heart, her faith, and the warmth she brought to those around her.

She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews who were like her own children.

Bernice was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Mathew and Josephine, brothers Ervin (Edna) Konen, Richard (Mary Kay) Konen, Joseph Konen in infancy, sisters Maxine (Charles) Streff, Patricia (Melvin) Renaud, Joan Grant, Mary Konen in infancy and several nieces and nephews who were truly special to her.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May, 2, 2026 at 1:30PM at St Rita of Cascia Catholic Church. The graveside service will follow at Marywood Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 1, 2026, from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at Daleiden Mortuary (220 North Lake Street, Aurora, Illinois 60506 Phone: 630-631-5500).
