Barbara Ann Decker, 79 of Aurora, Illinois passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at Meadowbrook Manor-Naperville. She was born on May 17, 1941 in Aurora, Illinois to George N. and Beatrice M. (Buri) Krantz.
Barbara is survived by her five devoted children Dawn (Joe) Mowka, Marty (Debbi) Decker, Kris (Joe) Mendoza, Jason (Lisa) Decker, and Jeremy (Paula) Decker. Her cherished grandchildren, Kristina (Jim) Hunley, Carrie (Matt) Hemmer, Nicholas, Christopher, and Daniel (Lynn) Mowka, and Austin "AJ" Decker. Her loving great-grandchildren, Miles, Chase and Mia. Her sisters, Sue (Chuck) Lane and Gerri (Tom) Kustermann; and nieces, and nephews.
Barbara is preceded in death by her loving husband Ronald E. Decker who passed away on April 16, 2014, her parents and her stepfather.
She was a member of St. Nicholas Church in Aurora. During her career she worked at North Aurora Florist and The Rolling Oaks Camp Ground in Sheridan, Illinois. She was a devoted house wife and a stay at home mom. In her free time she enjoyed cooking and baking for family and friends. She enjoyed fishing and being outdoors. Most of all Barbara enjoyed spending time with her loving family and friends. She will be missed.
Memorial services will begin at 9:30 AM from THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY to St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 308 High Street, Aurora, Illinois 60505 where a memorial mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM. The capacity of church is limited to 130 individuals. Inurnment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Memorial visitation will be Sunday, December 27, 2020 from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 N. Lake St. Aurora, IL. 60506. (630) 631-5500.
In adherence to Covid-19 pandemic protocols, visitors are asked to pay their respects to the family for only a few minutes and exit the funeral home in a timely fashion. Social distancing and face masks are required for those in attendance with a limit of 10 people in the building at a time. We appreciate your cooperation and apologize for any inconvenience.
The family would like to thank the staff of Meadowbrook Manor-Naperville and Residential Hospice for the care and compassion they showed toward Barbara.
A luncheon to celebrate Barbara's life will be held at a later date due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
