Barbara Blasing, formerly of Aurora, Illinois, passed away peacefully at her home in Somonauk, Illinois, on September 1, 2026.

Barbara was born on September 23, 1932, in Aurora, Illinois, to Albert and Margaret Clemens. She married Robert N. Blasing, and together they shared a loving and devoted marriage for 61 years.

Barbara cherished her family and her faith deeply. She was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, where she had been a member for more than 90 years. She generously gave of her time and talents, volunteering at Copley Medical Center during her early retirement years.

Barbara found joy in the simple things in life. She loved watching Jeopardy! and enthusiastically cheering on the Chicago Bulls and Chicago Cubs. Above all, she will be remembered for her kindness, warmth, and genuine care for others. Barbara had a special way of making everyone around her feel welcome, valued, and loved.

Barbara is survived by her children: Steve (Cindy) Blasing, Beth LeCuyer, Mary Ann (Mark) Feltes, Julie (Bradley) Hanna, and Laura (Stephen) Bohler; 10 grandchildren: Christina (Jason) Stork, Melissa (Austin) Dempsey, Anthony (Melissa) LeCuyer, Jennifer (Mark) Guzauskas, Aaron (Caroline) Bohler, Eric (Jessica) Bohler, Aron (Ashley) Feltes, Tyler (McKenzie) Hlavac, Nicholas (Torrie) Blasing, and Megan Hanna; and 16 great-grandchildren: Chloe, Landon, Ashley, Madeline, Ryan, Aiden, Matthew, Colton, Morgan, Bennett, Cora, Tessa, June, Hugh, Lillian, and Charles.

Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Albert and Margaret Clemens; her husband, Robert N. Blasing; her son-in-law, James LeCuyer; and her siblings, Bernice, Alice, and David.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Sisters of St. Francis 1501 South Layton Boulevard, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, 53215-1924 in Barbara’s memory.

Barbara will be laid to rest on Wednesday, September 23, 2026. The family will gather at 9:30-10:30 a.m. in the St. Francis Community Center at Our Lady of Good Counsel to welcome family and friends. Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church with burial at Mt. Olivet immediately following Mass.
