Arvid M Peura, 88, of Aurora passed away peacefully at his daughters home February 5, 2020. Arvid was born September 12, 1931 in Dekalb, IL the son of Arvid and Dorothy(Roland) Peura Sr. Arvid retired from the United States Postal Service. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Arvid was a member of the Lucky 50 Club. He loved spending time with his grandchildren fishing, taking them roller skating or going out for a special once a week dinner. He enjoyed fishing and gardening, one time winning second prize for the largest pumpkin at the Sandwich Fair.
Arvid is survived by two children, Michael (Lisa) Peura of Yorkville and Katherine (David) Kettley of Aurora.; 11 grandchildren, Jeffery Peura, Jackie(Adon) Arriaga, Jason (Shalia) Peura, Lindsey(Sean) Hamer, Mallory(Christopher) Kesselring, Tracie(Charles) Fuller, Michael(Jenny) Kettley, Jonathan(Jillian) Kettley, Eliana, Caden, and Nathaniel Kettley; 20 great grandchildren, Eric, Jessica, Rebecca, Jenica, Jason Jr. and Adonis Peura, Sebastian, Isabella, and Victoriana Arriaga, Angelina, Noah and Vivian Fuller, Phoebe Kettley and Isobel Kettley, Caden, Maggie, and Avery Hamer, Alexa and Emersyn Kesselring. He is survived by two sisters Sandy(Jeff) Reardon and Barb Countes one sister-in-law Mary Peura and one brother Jeff(Sue) Johnson.
He is preceded in death by two brothers Richard and Robert.
