Antonio "Tony" Hernandez, 70, a lifelong resident of Aurora, passed away, June 3, 2021 in Chicago. He was born on April 19, 1951 in Waxahachie, Texas, the son of Leonidez and Edelfa Hernandez.
He proudly served our country in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed walking along the Fox River, looking for hawks and other wildlife and listening to classic rock music. In the later years of his life he came to know how much he was loved by our Creator and near the end of his earthly life he trusted in Jesus as his Savior. Tony was loved by the Warehouse Church family for many years.
He is survived by his former wife, Anita Curtis (whom he never forgot); daughter, Denise Halligan; son, Tony Hernandez; grandchildren, Ethan, Ava, and Reef; siblings, Silvia (Israel) Cantu Jr., Leonidez Hernandez Jr., Gloria Cornejo; Arturo (Thea) Hernandez, Diana (Reynaldo) Gonzalez and Edward (Joann) Hernandez; and friends, Jimi, Katharine, David and Grace Allen of Aurora.
Tony is preceded in death by his parents, Leonidez and Edelfa Hernandez; brother, Erasmo "Eddie" Hernandez and his nephew, Israel Alan Cantu.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 10, 2021 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 North Lake Street, Aurora, Illinois. 630-631-5500.
Burial will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 20953 W Hoff Rd, Elwood, IL at 11:00 AM
