Antonette "Toni" Kalman (Zefran), 98, was a longtime resident of Aurora, most recently living at Elevate Care Nursing home in Deerfield Passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2024. She was born September 16, 1926 in Aurora to Anton and Theresa (Undesser) Zefran.
She went to school at St. Joseph Catholic School and Madonna High School. She Worked at National Brush, Stoners, Thor Power Tool, and Lyon Metal. After her children were grown, she worked at Elmer's Dog House, Valley Bowl and Seven-Eleven. She was a parishioner of St. Nicholas Catholic Church for many years and then Blessed Sacrament in North Aurora.
In her earlier years, she enjoyed sewing club, bowling, card group, and dancing the polka and waltzes at the VFW Club and Tiger Club. Her love of music included playing the accordion, piano, and organ. In her later years she took harmonica lessons, and enjoyed bingo and playing cards. She was a loyal Cubs fan and loved going places in her "Chevy", She drove until she was ninety two!
She was a very caring person who was always helping family, friends and neighbors. She greeted everyone with a bright smile and a big hello at her many activities at the Aurora Township, Prisco Community Center, St. Charles Park District, and Jennings Terrace and enjoyed spending time with her good friends. Her greatest joy was family gatherings with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be truly missed.

She is survived by her three children, Carol (Larry) Looper of Bloomington, Joan (Rex) Roehl of Deerfield, and Jim (Virginia) Kalman of Aurora. Also her very loved nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Emery Kalman; her son, David Kalman; a grandson, Andrew Kalman; her parents; four brothers, Tony, Herman, Joseph, Gene Zefran, and one step sister, Betty Marsh.
Funeral mass will be offered Monday, November 11, 2024 at 11:00 AM from THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY at Blessed Sacrament Church; Fr. Max Lasrado will officiate. Interment will be privately held at St. Joseph Cemetery at a later date.
In State visitation will be held Monday, November 11, 2024 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Blessed Sacrament Church, 801 Oak Street, North Aurora, IL.
