Anthony J. "Tony" Prisco

Anthony “Tony” J. Prisco, 89, of Aurora, IL passed away Sunday, July 31, 2016 at his home. He was born June 16, 1927 in Aurora. Tony was the owner, operator and meat cutter of Prisco’s Fine Foods, Inc. which has been in his family for ninety years this year. He graduated from Marmion Military Academy in 1945. Tony attended Aurora College and then graduated from the National School of Meat Cutting in Toledo, Ohio, where he learned the trade that he became well known for in his home town. Tony was a member of St. Therese Church for seventy years. He also served our country in the United States Army. Tony was very active in the community. His passion in life was his faith, his family and food. He contributed generously to feeding anyone who was in need of food and he did so freely. He was a generous person by nature and supported ardently, the Aurora Interfaith Food Pantry, the Marie Wilkinson Foundation & Food Pantry, and the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart in Aurora. Tony enjoyed gardening and the outdoors and was so passionate about providing food that he even loved feeding the birds and squirrels. Tony was devoted to his family, his business and his parish church, and he will be deeply missed. Survivors include his eight children, Robert A. (Georgette) Prisco, Michael R. (Virginia) Prisco, Antoinette “Toni” (Bob) Vaughan, Anne Louise (Tom) Strong, Martha J. Prisco, Elizabeth “Beth” P. (Frank) Guzauskas, Anthony “Tony” G. (Marilyn) Prisco and Margaret F. Prisco; twenty-two grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, his sister Barbara (Leroy) Schuering, his two brothers Guy V. (Shirley) Prisco and Harold M. (Linda) Prisco and many nieces and nephews. Tony was a loving husband to his wife, Anna of sixty-eight years who preceded him in death in October of 2014. He was also preceded in death by his parents Anthony and Mary (Germana) Prisco, one grandchild, and two great grandchildren. Funeral from THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY will be Friday, August 5, 2016 at 9:30am to St. Therese Church at 10:00am. Fr. Michael Miller, MSC will officiate with interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, August 4, 2016 from 2:00pm until 8:00pm at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 N. Lake St., Aurora, 630-631-5500.
