Obituary

Anthony Kresz, 92, of Aurora, Illinois, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2026, just weeks before his 93rd birthday in May.
Born in Hungary, Anthony later made his home in Aurora, where he built a life grounded in hard work, devotion, and deep love for his family. A skilled home builder by trade, he took great pride in his craft. For Anthony, building houses was more than a profession it was a passion he pursued with care and dedication throughout his life.
Beyond his work, Anthony enjoyed bowling and spending time with those he loved. Though known as a serious man, he had a gift for making people laugh, bringing warmth and humor to the moments he shared with others.
Above all, Anthony was a loving and kind husband, father, and grandfather. He shared 64 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Agnes, and they would have celebrated their 65th anniversary this May. He was a devoted father to his only son, Robert, and a proud grandfather to his only grandchild, Joshua Akerlow.
Music was woven throughout Anthony's life. He played accordion and saxophone in a band until Robert was born, and he even sponsored a German music program on a local radio station. Together with Agnes — who sang in the church choir — he passed that love of music on to both his son and grandson.
He is preceded in death by his parents Anton and Magdalena (Neib) Kresz and his brother Jakob (Elizabeth) Kresz.
Anthony will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished and in the many homes he built with his own hands.
