Ana Rosa Afanador, 94, of North Aurora passed away on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at her home. She was born December 18, 1926 in Puerto Rico to Demetrio and Trinidad Afanador. She married Jose Irizarry in Puerto Rico and raised six children.
Ana dedicated her life to her family raising her children as well as numerous grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and was an expert at natural remedies. She was considered the neighborhood seamstress. She created numerous original dresses for her daughters and granddaughters.
Ana is cherished and will be missed by her four children, Mirta (Felix) Torres, Georgina (Ramon) Irizarry, Dagma (Antonio) Felix, and Adamy (Felix) Martinez; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; brother, Marcelino; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Irizarry; sons, Alejandro and Neftali; grandson, Elliot Torres; parents; and siblings.
Funeral Service will be Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at 12:00 PM at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 N. Lake St., Aurora.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 7, 2021 from 9:30 AM until 12:00 PM at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 N. Lake St., Aurora, 630-631-5500. Due to Covid-19 pandemic protocols, visitors are asked to where a mask.
