Alfredo Cadena, age 85, of Aurora, IL, passed peacefully on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at his residence.
He was born August 18, 1935 in Weslaco, Texas, the son of Trinidad and Alfredo Cadena.
Alfredo Cadena, devoted husband to, Ermalina (Marquez) Cadena of 57 years, and a loving father to his 5 children Alfredo Cadena III of Aurora, IL, Alexandro Cadena (Kathryn) of Sandwich, IL, Alberto Cadena of Montgomery, IL, Anna Hernandez (Fernando) of Montgomery, IL, and Andrea Cadena of Aurora, IL. He is also survived by his 14 cherished grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his 6 brothers and 1 sister.
Alfredo proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps for 4 years from 1958-1962. After his honorable discharge, Alfredo worked at All-Steel-Equip Company, Eagle Food Centers, Jennings Terrace, Richards - Willcox, Rush Copley, and Dreyer Medical Clinic until his retirement. In his spare time, you would find Alfredo working on any project that needed fixing, tending to his rental properties, his yard, and spending time with his family.
Alfredo was loved by everyone that he came in contact with. His affable good nature and kindness were among his unforgettable traits. He was friendly and easy going. There is no better measure of a man than Alfredo Cadena. He was the heart of the family and will be terribly missed by all.
Gratitude is given to Seasons Hospice for the hardworking doctors, nurses, and CNA's who took great care of Alfredo towards the end of his journey.
Funeral services will be Saturday, November 7, 2020 at 10:00am at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY. Fr. Jerome Leake will officiate with interment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday, November 6, 2020 from 4:30pm until 6:30pm at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 N. Lake St. Aurora, IL. 60506. (630) 631-5500.
In adherence to Covid-19 pandemic protocols, non-family visitors are asked to pay their respects to the family for only a few minutes and exit the funeral home in a timely fashion. Social distancing and face masks are required for those in attendance. The funeral service is limited to 25 people in attendance. We appreciate your cooperation and apologize for any inconvenience.
