Nadia M. Simek

January 19, 1948 - May 2, 2022

Nadia M. Simek, 74, of Aurora passed away on Monday, May 2, 2022. She was born January 19, 1948 in Prague, the daughter of Josef Tuma and Ludmila Tumova. In 1973, Nadia left Prague and moved to California. She worked in the library at Stanford University where she was fluent in Czech, German, Russian, and English. On April 8, 1978 she married her beloved Peter in Palo Alto, California. Together they raised four children. She loved gardening and cooking but will be cherished and remembered mostly as a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her family was her passion. She is survived by four children, Philipe (Amy) Simek, Thomas Simek, Peter D. (Alexis) Simek, and Nadia (Mike) Schweisthal; four grandchildren, Thaddeus, Nicholas, Maxwell and Lukas Simek; sister, Ludmila Miksu; and nephew, Daniel Miksu. She was preceded in death by her parents. Arrangements are being handled by THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 N. Lake St., Aurora, IL 60506, 630-631-5500. There will be a private family service at a later date.
