Marilyn Joyce Crutchett
January 3, 1942 - December 27, 2021
Marilyn Joyce Crutchett, 79, passed away Monday, December 27, 2021 at Edward Hospital in Naperville. She was born January 3, 1942 in Aurora, the daughter of Thomas and Helen (Gross) Terebessy. She was a graduate of East Aurora High School, and was a life-long Chicago Cubs fan. Marilyn was a proud member of the thriving Romanian American community in the Pigeon Hill section of Aurora’s East Side. Her father immigrated to the US at around age 7 with his mother in roughly 1919. His father (and many other men) had already arrived in the US evading the draft of the Austro-Hungarian army and the forced assimilation of Romanians by their Hungarian rulers. Marilyn was a life-long member of St. Michael Romanian Byzantine Catholic Church, and a member of the Phoenix Club, and the Fox Valley Animal Welfare League. She married Gilbert Crutchett in 1985, and he preceded her in death in 2001. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and her sister Betty (Terebessy) True. She is survived by her daughter Connie Deuchler; her son Frank (Deanne) McCannon III; and her granddaughters Helina McCannon and Jada McCannon. Marilyn’s family would like to extend our gratitude to the nurses, techs, and doctors of Edward Hospital (7th FL Cardiac Unit) in Naperville and Residential Hospice of Downers Grove for their exemplary service and genuine care for our mother. Funeral service will be Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at 12:00 PM at St. Michael Romanian Byzantine Catholic Church in Aurora. Fr. Remus Orian will officiate with interment at St. Michael Cemetery. Masks required at all indoor services. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10:30 AM until 11:30 AM at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 N. Lake St., Aurora IL 60506. 630-631-5500. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fox Valley Aurora Animal Welfare League or St Michael Romanian Byzantine Catholic Church in Aurora.
