Linda S. Alsip Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Linda S. Alsip, 64, of Aurora, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 8, 2014. She was born June 27, 1949 to Leroy Sr. and Suzette Cobb of Aurora. Linda bowled in the Ladies Majors at Valley Bowl and the Ladies Powder Puffs at Parkside. She won several AWBA events and is a member of the AWBA Hall of Fame. Linda was on the team that won the National Division II in 1980. Linda was very active in sports all her life. She played in the Yorkville and Aurora Women’s Fast Pitch Softball League, the Slow Pitch League for Elmer’s Doghouse, and went to two national tournaments. Linda is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Denny; her canine kids, Molly and Micky; her mother, Suzette; her sister, Sandra Lipscomb; her brothers, Skip and Wayne Cobb; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, sisters and brothers-in-law; and her special friend, John Z. A special thanks to Jose and Janette Romero for their loving support and comfort. She was preceded in death by her father; her great nephew, Anthony Cobb; her brother-in-law, Terry Lipscomb; and several aunts and uncles. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 12, 2014 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 N. Lake St., Aurora. 630-631-5500. Funeral services will be private.
