Karen E. Remy Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Karen E. Remy, 73, of Somonauk, IL formally of Aurora, passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at her home. She was born July 28, 1945 in Aurora, Illinois. Karen retired as a supervisor from AT&T after thirty five years of service. During her time at AT&T she was a union leader and also ran the Pioneer store. She made friends everywhere she went. She loved cooking and baking, and was known for her homemade cookies she would give to her family, friends and local firehouses. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who will be dearly missed but never forgotten. She is survived by her two children, Tracy Remy-Biro, Michael Remy, and Joey Keller who was like a son to her; four grandchildren, Robert (Shannon) Remy, Andrew (Veronica) Remy, Nicholas Remy, Sarah Remy; three great grandchildren, Layla, Landyn, and Roman; many cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends whom she loved very much. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Vaudeth (Pemberton) Fitzgerald; a sister, Betty Sommers and a brother, Harold Fitzgerald. A memorial service will be on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 12:00 PM at THE DALEDIEN MORTUARY; inurnment will be held in River Hills Memorial Park following the service.
