Harold Ray, 98, of Aurora, passed away September 12, 2018. He was born the son of Hugo and Mary Ray on September 4, 1920, in Aurora. Harold was a proud World War II Veteran who served proudly in the US Marines. He was a very devoted member of St. Peters Catholic Church who liked to participate in the Italian American Club and keep up crafty hobbies such as woodworking. He was also retired from the Aurora Packing Company. He is survived by his children Sandra Baker, and Jo Ann (Robert) Loehmann; grandchildren Larry (Annette) Baker, Jeffrey (Sherri) Baker, Adam (Collette) Baker, Michele (Anthony) Mondello, Julie Spooner, and Stephanie (Bradley) Shaffer; six great-grandchildren; sister Mildred Boock; cousin Adeline; and caregiver Ziggy. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Josephine; sister Ruth Benson; and his parents. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 10:00 AM at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 925 Sard Ave, Aurora, IL 60506 with Fr. Joachim Tyrtania officiating with interment to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, September 14, 2018, from 4:00 PM- 8:00 PM with a liturgical wake service at 5:00 PM at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 North Lake Street, Aurora, Illinois.
