Gerald (Jerry) Weistroffer of Aurora, IL passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was 91 years old.

He is survived by his wife Phyllis (Schweisthal) Weistroffer of 67 years, six daughters and one son; Jane (Greg) Meyer of North Aurora, Commander USNR-R Gary (Tracy) Weistroffer of Jacksonville, FL, Janice (Steve) Yohn of Elgin, Judy (Rob) Briscoe of Elgin, Jackie (Fred) d'Escoto of Aurora, Jeune (Brian) Winkel of Sugar Grove, and Jill Kesinger of Elgin.

He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren, eleven great-children, one great -great grandchild, his three younger brothers, Lee (Nancy) Weistroffer of Aurora, Ken Weistroffer of Coco Beach, FL, Bill Weistroffer of Chippewa Lake, MI, his uncle Donald Meyer of Aurora, and numerous nieces, and nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Theresa (Meyer) Weistroffer of North Aurora, his sister-in-law, Joan (Ken) Weistroffer, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Jerry was a lifetime Aurora resident and a graduate of Annunciation BVM School and Marmion Academy. He worked at the Burlington Northern Railroad in Aurora after high school before enlisting in the United States Airforce in 1952 where he became an officer and pilot on fighter jets. He then went on to fly commercial airplanes for United Airlines for 34 years. He married Phyllis in Chaumont, France and started their family in Marywood. After retiring in 1992, he and Phyllis spent their winters in Naples, FL and summers at their cabin near Palisade, MN. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus and the Moose Lodge.

A visitation will be held in Aurora, IL on Saturday, January 6, 2024, from 9:00am until 10:30am at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY 220 North Lake Street, Aurora, IL630-631-5500. ( www.daleidenmortuary.com ).
A funeral mass will take place on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at 11:00am at Annunciation BVM Catholic Church in Aurora, IL. Entombment will follow at Mt. Olivet in Aurora.
