Craig A. Cherwin, 57, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at his home. Craig was born in Aurora on July 28, 1961 to Donald and Carolyne (Medernach) Cherwin. Craig attended Marmion Academy and graduated from West Aurora High School, Class of 1979. He attended College of St. Francis (now University of St. Francis) in Joliet from 1979-1983 at which time he began his career with Common Wealth Edison (now NRG) where he worked until 2013. Craig was a loving father and devout Chicago sports fan (sans the Cubs) who enjoyed watching and talking about his teams and spending time with his family. He is survived by his three children: Nicholas (Jen Black), Michael (Ashley Brehmer), and Emily Cherwin. He is also survived by his younger brother Jay, his wife Kathy, and their two children, Joey and Nicole. The mother of his children, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and lifelong friends from work also survive him. He was preceded in death by his parents Donald (1998) and Carolyne (2018) Cherwin. A memorial visitation will be held Sunday, January 27, 2019 from 3:00pm until 7:00pm with a memorial service beginning at 6:30pm at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at 10:00am at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 N. Lake St., Aurora, 630-631-5500.
