Catherine E. Behm
July 3, 1943 - December 30, 2021
Catherine E Behm, 77, resident of Aurora, IL passed away Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Mercy Hospital in Aurora to join her husband Franklin of fifty years in Eternity. She was born July 3, 1943 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Edward and Viola Sowa. Catherine (aka Cathie) was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her family! She was always concerned and worried about her family more than herself. No one would ever describe her as selfish. She was selfless her entire life. Catherine had a strong relationship with the Lord. She prayed often, mainly for other people that she thought really needed it. She kept a rosary at her side in case if she heard that someone needed prayer, and she would always say a rosary for that person. She enjoyed her visits and prayer time with Father Jerry. She was an angel for her family, always taking care of them no matter what. She was one of the strongest women you would ever meet. She overcame much, especially in her last years of her life. She was always diligent, patient, and caring. She had a great sense-of-humor. Her glass was always "half full," and not "half empty" in her attitude. Even with her medical challenges later in life, she carried on with grace, dignity and as much self sufficiency as she was able. She never wanted to "bother" or be dependent on anyone, especially her family. She was a great example for her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, baking, watching home shopping channels, Mountain Men, cooking shows, The Hallmark Channel, and any shows that featured Celtic dancing or singing on television. She always cooked a lot of food for people. People never left our home hungry! She "loved" Tom Selleck and Michael Strahan. Her favorite movie was, The Quiet Man. Without her now the world will never be the same for many that knew and loved her. She is survived by her daughter Patricia (Richy) Gross of Aurora, her son Franklin of Aurora, her grandson Franklin of Aurora, her granddaughter Alexandra of Fort Riley, KS, her sister Gayle Franklin of Poplar Grove, sister-in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Cathie was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Viola, and the love of her life Franklin Behm, her husband of fifty years. THE DALIEDEN MORTUARY 220 N. Lake Street in Aurora is handling her arrangments. Due to the pandemic, no services will be made at this time. Cathie would wish that you donate to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, www.stjude.org or phone 901-595-3300 or to the Gary Sinise Foundation helping Veterans, www.garysinisefoundation.org or phone 818-432-8988.
