Alex "Shup" Vago

August 15, 1929 - March 2, 2022

Alex "Shup" Vago, 92, of Sugar Grove, IL, formerly of Aurora, IL, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at Covenant Living at The Holmstad in Batavia. He was born August 15, 1929 in Aurora, IL. Alex was a lifelong resident of Aurora, IL and was a proud Army veteran during the Korean War. He will always be remembered for the way he kept his yard and landscaping. It was meticulous and he was very proud of it. He is survived by his three children Debbie Vago of Aurora, Toni Wegman of Sugar Grove, and Eric (Donna) Vago of Washington (state); his four grandchildren Brian Alex Vago, Perry Wegman, Lauren Vago, and Ross Wegman; his four great grandchildren whom he was especially close to Emily, Hannah, Sonny and Lena Wegman; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Carol Vago; his son-in-law Paul Wegman; his parents Anna and Louis Vago; and his brothers and sisters Louis Vago, Rose “Sis” Moses, Alice Poss, Ruthie Vago, Helen Jean Zakosek, and George Vago.
