William B. "Bill" Millen

William B “Bill” Millen, 75, of North Aurora, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, January 23, 2013. He was born on November 30, 1937 in Aurora, the son of August and Mary (Assell) Millen. Bill was a 1955 graduate of Marmion Military Academy and attended Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI. On October 3, 1964, he married Sherilyn M. Hopp. He was employed for over 38 years at Old Second National Bank until his retirement. William was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Church where he was involved for many years on the Parish Council and the bingo committee. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus 736 Council where he was an officer, the secretary of the Knights of Columbus bowling league, where he organized many of their bowling trips. Bill was also a Marquette Assembly 4th degree Knights of Columbus, and a member of the Optimist Club. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, fishing in Ely MN, was a Chicago sports fan, liked to travel, and enjoyed watching his grandchildren at their sporting events. After his retirement, he was proud of achieving a hole-in-one, a double eagle and a 300 game in bowling. Survivors include his wife, Sherilyn M. Millen; daughters, Patricia D. (Leon) Feltes, her children, Josh, Mitchell, Casey and Brooke, and Peggy A. (Dennis) Key, her children, Krystopher, Nicole, Cory and Conner; one great-grandson, Tyler who is expected soon; his sister, Arlene Colwell; his mother-in-law, Shirley Hopp; many brothers and sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, August and Mary Millen; two brothers, Fr. Edwin Millen and Richard Millen; father-in-law, Clarence Hopp, brother-in-law, Thomas Colwell; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Millen Ferris. Funeral services will be Monday, January 28, 2013 at 9:30 AM from THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY to St. Joseph Church at 10:00 AM. Fr. Jerome L. Leake will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday, January 27, 2013 from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a liturgical wake service at 3:00pm at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 N. Lake Street, Aurora, IL. 60506 (630) 631-5500.
