Susan C. Heins

Susan (Berg) Heins,100, of Aurora, passed away Friday, November 9, 2012. She was born August 10, 1912 in Aurora, IL to William J. and Anna (Kahl) Berg. Susan graduated from Annunciation B.V.M. School and was a 1929 graduate of Madonna High School. She married Leo A. Heins on October 19, 1938, who died on December 1, 1956 at the age of 46. Susan was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church since 1942 and was the parish secretary for almost 35 years, retiring at the age of 82. During this time she was a dedicated secretary to: Rev. Sylvester J. Eye, Rev. Robert Jackson and Rev. Edward Gillespie. She was also a member of the Sanctuary Sodality and The Ladies of Columbus. Before her marriage, she was employed at Richard-Wilcox for 10 years as secretary of the elevator equipment division. She is survived by her daughter, Marian (Tod) Michael; her son-in-law, Allan Schuster and her daughter-in-law, Diane Heins; eight grandchildren: Thomas (Deborah) Heins, Margaret (Tony) Schwartz, Michael (Christy) Heins, Leigh (Edward) Marcheselli, David (Cara) Schuster, Carey (Jeffrey) McGrath, Jon Michael, and Janna Michael; fifteen great grandchildren: Leo Heins, Michael and Andrew Thompson, Ashley and Alexander Heins, Edward, Grace and Ethan Marcheselli, Nicholas, Madeline and Jack Schuster, Declan, Lilah, Camden, and Morgan McGrath; her great-great granddaughter, Kelli Heins; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her children, Raymond Heins and Ellyn Schuster; her great grandson, Shane McGrath; two sisters, Marie (LaVerne) Feltes and Lucille Berg; and three brothers, William H. (Agnes) Berg, Clemens (Celia) Berg, and Edward (Marcella) Berg. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 14, 2012 from THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY at 9:30 AM to Annunciation Church at 10:00 AM. Fr. Patrick Gillmeyer, O.S.B. will officiate with interment at Marywood Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 13, 2012 from 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM, with a Liturgical Wake Service at 4:00 PM, at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 North Lake Street, Aurora. 630-631-5500.
