Pilar R. Pesina

Pilar R. Pesina, age 86 of San Antonio, TX passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, April 30th, 2012. He was born on August 22, 1925 in Santa Anna, TX. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandpa. He was also a caring friend to many. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during WWII. On December 15, 1949 he married the love of his life, Elidia Tomasa Jaime-Melendez and together they raised five children. They travelled the country in search of a better life for their family, from picking cotton in Texas, to working in the grape vineyards of California, finally settling in Illinois in 1966. Mr. Pesina worked for many years at the former Portable Electric Tools (PET) in Geneva, IL, and later worked for the St. Charles Public Schools, mainly at Little Woods School as head custodian. He also worked at the old Delnor Hospital in St. Charles in the housekeeping department until his retirement. He moved to warmer climate with his daughter and her family to San Antonio, TX in 2004. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Elidia and by his sons Manuel Melendez, Guillermo (Bill) Pesina, and twin sons Juan and Jose at birth. He leaves to be missed by his daughters, Maria "Chacha" (Jose) Pasillas, Lena (Gary) Gray, Maria (Phil) Flowers, his brothers, Manuel (Martha) Pesina and Guillermo Pesina, ten grandchildren, Ryan Pesina, Manuel (Tanya), Alicia (Mikhail) and Lea Mendoza, Lucero (Joseph) Martinez, Stephen and Eric Eldridge, Natalya, Elias and Kory Flowers, ten great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and his little buddy Izzie. Rest in peace dear "Grandpoo", your loving smile and sense of humor will never be forgotten. Funeral from THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY will be Monday, May 7, 2012 at 10:30am to St. Rita of Cascia Church at 11:00am. Mass will be officiated by Fr. Louis Busemeyer, S.J.
