Maureen Eva Flinn

Maureen Eva Flinn, 86, Montgomery, passed away surrounded by her family whom she loved deeply, on Tuesday, April 20th, 2021. She was born October 28, 1934 in Aurora, to Elizabeth (Meyer) and Harold Buckley. Maureen was an active, lifetime member of Our Lady of Good Counsel parish. She attended Our Lady of Good Counsel Grade school and Madonna High School. She was married to Robert J. Flinn on May 29, 1954 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, where they also celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Maureen was involved in many organizations over the years. Her love and passion for the last fifteen years was preparing the church for the Easter and Christmas celebrations. She was also a devoted member of the Ladies of Columbus, the Our Lady of Good Counsel Sanctuary Sodality and the OLGC PTA while her children attended school there. In 2014, Maureen was named Catholic Woman of the Year. She also enjoyed visiting the sick and homebound. She is survived by four children; Kathy Flinn Ernst, Mike (Carolyn) Flinn, Lisa (Bryan)Horner, Linda (Tom)Bohr; ten grandchildren, Matt (Allison)Ernst, Michael (Brianna)Ernst, Justin (Tania)Ernst, Melissa (Doug)McClelland, Brendan (Kristina)Flinn, Megan (Ben)Ness, Ryan (Tanna)Horner, David (Jessica)Horner, Steve (Samantha)Bohr, Nicole (Jeremy)Williams; eleven great grandchildren; brother, Bob (Louanne)Buckley; nephew, Rob (Melissa)Buckley; several cousins and many special friends and neighbors. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, of fifty years and her parents, Elizabeth and Harold Buckley. Funeral Mass will be Friday, April 30, 2021 at 9:30am from THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY to Our Lady of Good Counsel Church at 10:00am. Fr. Timothy Mulcahey will officiate with interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, April 29, 2021 from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 N. Lake St., Aurora, 630-631-5500. Due to Covid-19 pandemic protocols, non-family visitors are asked to pay their respects to the family for only a few minutes and exit the funeral home in a timely fashion. Social distancing and face masks are required for those in attendance. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Our Lady of Good Counsel Church or the charity of the donor's choice.
