Mary Ann Buckley

Mary Ann Buckley, 84, of Aurora, passed away Monday, February 27, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family and dear friend and caregiver Merlie. She was born September 22, 1932 in Aurora, Illinois, the daughter of Francis and Gertrude McHugh. She was united in marriage to her loving husband James H. Buckley in 1955. Mary Ann was employed for over 25 years at Provena Mercy Hospital in Aurora and was a longtime member of Holy Angels Parish. She will be remembered for her smile, positive outlook and willingness to help anyone in need. She spent the last two years enjoying her life with her fellow residents at Provena Fox Knoll. Mary Ann is survived by her eight children, Jim (Mary) Buckley, Kathy (Dan) Platt, Sharon (Daniel) Regnier, John (Karen) Buckley, Tom Buckley, Bill Buckley, Michael (Heidi) Buckley and Mary (Steve) Dennin; sixteen grandchildren, Jennifer Buckley, Kelly (Angelo) Vatianou, Bob (Virginia) Platt, Ryan (Erin) Platt, Andy (Amy) Platt, Lindsay (Jarrod) Byington, Brittany (Alex) Orlowski, Mallory (Bryan) Haste, Casey (Kevin) Tuite, Lauren (Alex) Cook, Allison Buckley, Megan Buckley, Melanie Buckley, Ben Buckley, Paige Buckley and Kalib Dennin; seventeen great grandchildren; her brother, William McHugh; brother-in-law, Pat Buckley; sisters-in-law, Barbara Buckley and Lois McHugh; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, James H. Buckley; her parents, Francis and Gertrude McHugh; her brother, John McHugh; and brothers-in-law, Thomas Buckley and John “Jack” Buckley. Mary Ann’s family would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation for her friends at Fox Knoll, the staff at Fox Knoll and all the many healthcare professionals who cared for her the past few years. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 3, 2017 from THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY at 9:30 AM to Holy Angels Church at 10:00 AM. Fr. Michael Lavan will officiate with entombment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
