Lena D. Todd

Lena (Popp) Todd, age 94 of Aurora passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at Prairieview Nursing Home in Danforth, Illinois. She was born February 1, 1921. Lena was united in marriage on January 3, 1948 in Aurora, Illinois to Vester Todd and spent thirty three years together until his passing February 1, 1981. Lena was a devoted daughter, wife and mother. She was an excellent seamstress and was famous for her culinary skills. Her many prayers and intercessions on behalf of her family and strangers alike, were the greatest of gifts. She is survived by four daughters, Mary Ann Hogan of North Aurora, IL, Dorothy Morlan of Clifton, IL, Sarah (Larry) Costin of North Aurora, IL and Julie (Greg) Thomas of Aurora, IL; her ten grandchildren, Patrick Hogan, Anne (Thomas) Hansen, Nick Morlan, Dan Morlan, Eric Costin, Colleen Costin, Kevin (Jenny Stotz) Costin, Todd (Melissa Tarkington) Thomas, LeighAnn Thomas and Alexis Thomas; five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Dorothy Popp, three brothers, George, John and Alex Popp; four sisters, Mary Tuer, Julia Todus, Dorothy Hucharski and Florence Hansisak; a son-in-law, Paul Hogan. Lena’s family would like to extend their gratitude for the many years of loving care, and acts of kindness by the professionals at Faith’s Place and Prairieview Lutheran Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 12:00 PM at St. Joseph Church; Fr. Jerome L. Leake will officiate with interment at Lincoln Memorial Park. In State Visitation will be held Saturday, September 26, 2015 from 10:00 AM until the funeral hour at St. Joseph Church, 722 High Street Aurora, Illinois 60506.
