Gertrude B. LaVelle

Gertrude B. LaVelle, 99, of North Aurora, passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at The Neighbor’s Next Door. She was born March 22, 1916 in North Aurora, IL, the daughter of Michael and Elizabeth (Theis) Frieders. Gertrude was employed by Buchner’s Bakery for 15 years as well as being a devoted homemaker for most of her life. She was a lifetime member of the Western Catholic Union. She is survived by her three children, Janet Medernach with whom she made her home for the last twenty one years, Sharon (Ken) Kish, Ron (Jill) LaVelle all of North Aurora; six grandchildren, Michael (Gina) Medernach of Bellflower, IL, Lisa (Jeff) Lutz of North Aurora, IL, Steve (Lisa) Kish of North Aurora, IL, Heather (Jason) Stenberg of Portage, WI, Amy (Jake) Goldsboro of Yorkville, IL, and Jeremy LaVelle of North Aurora, IL; eight great grandchildren, Ryan Lutz of Honolulu, HI, Eric Lutz of Davenport, IA, Katrina, Victoria and Kimberly Medernach of Bellflower, IL, Joshua and Justin Kish of North Aurora, IL, Jessica Goldsboro of Yorkville, IL; her sister-in-law, Jean Frieders; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond LaVelle, her parents; two sisters, Frances (Henry) May, Marie (Edwin) Pierce; three brothers, Nicholas (Colette) Frieders, Joseph (Colleen) Frieders, Ralph Frieders; her son-in-law, Fritz Medernach; three nephews, Eugene, Donald and Albert May. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 9:30 AM from THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY to Blessed Sacrament Church at 10:00 AM. Fr. Max Lasrado will officiate with interment in Marywood Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, November 6, 2015 from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 North Lake Street, Aurora, IL. 60506. (630) 631-5500.
