Carol J. Klein

Carol J. Klein, 81, was called Home by God on Saturday, May 18, 2013. Carol was born in Steger, Illinois on February 27, 1932. On May 31, 1952, she married her high school sweetheart in Biloxi, Mississippi. They were blessed with six children. Carol leaves behind her loving and devoted husband of 61 years, Robert; her four surviving children, Michael (Jo) Klein, Ellen (Mike) Cielocha, Edward (Ann) Klein, and Anne (Eric) Wedeen; daughter-in-law, Sandie Born Klein; son-in-law, Bill Bird; 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; her sister, Joyce Hasse; and many loved nieces and nephews, and special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Hilda Henn; brother, Harry Henn; grandson, Jimmy Klein Jr.; son, James Klein and daughter, Lori Klein Bird. Carol’s life was one of constant unconditional love. She lived for and through her family in all life’s celebrations and sorrows. She volunteered at Mercy Hospital for many years, was active in religious education at Annunciation Church, Cub Scouts, home school, and tenderly cared for babies from Catholic Charities. In 61 plus years, the family enjoyed camping together, sports activities, and after Bob’s retirement traveling in their RV sharing and caring for the many people they met along the way. Carol was God’s gift to all she met. She often encouraged others with her life’s message: Love one another unconditionally and stay close to God. She leaves that message to all. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 23, 2013 at 9:30 AM from THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY to Annunciation Church at 10:00 AM. Fr. Patrick Gillmeyer, O.S.B. will officiate with interment in Marywood Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 22, 2013 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 PM at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 N. Lake Street, Aurora, IL. 60506. (630) 631-5500. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hope Hospice, 9470 Health Park Circle, Fort Meyers, Florida, 33908, the American Cancer Society, or charity of the donor’s choice.
