Amadeo Sanchez Castillo

Amadeo Sanchez Castillo, born on April 18, 1930 in San Benito, Texas, passed on to join his loved ones on May 27, 2017. He was surrounded by his loving family at Rush Copley Medical Center as he made his transition. He was 87 years of age. His passing was due to several health issues. He blessed many with his presence during his long and full lifetime. Dad was a very hard working, devoted and great provider for his family of six. He was a proud Korean War Veteran who loved his country. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army. He retired from Dial Corp. in Montgomery, IL after thirty one years, where he acquired many friends. He went on to work for the city of Aurora where he was a resident for over sixty five years, as a school crossing guard for Oak Park School. He enjoyed working around the children as they did him. He was known by them for his love of dogs that he often shared with them and also his “Butterscotch treats” he would pass out to them. He helped so many others along the way. Amadeo has always had a sense of humor that has spread many smiles. He is survived and will be greatly missed by his children, Amadeo Castillo, Jr., Gloria (Carmelo) Castillo Ramirez, Arnoldo Castillo, Anna Castillo Love, Amalia Pegues, Norma (Efrain) Davila; six brothers and sisters, Ysidro (Sally) Castillo, Vidal Castillo, Luisa (Harry) Bailey, Inez (Alfredo) Gomez, Noemi (Tito) Tamayo, David (Maria) Castillo; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews whom he loved and adored all throughout their lives. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maria Eva Guerrero Castillo; a son, Roberto Castillo, Sr.; a great grandson, Vincent Dario Castillo; his parents, Emilio and Aurora (Sanchez) Castillo; a brother, Emilio (Luisa) Castillo; two sisters, Alicia (Jose) Loya and Aurora Castillo in infancy; two nephews, Ernesto Castillo and Ysidro Castillo, Jr. Amadeo’s family would like to thank all those that offered prayers and well wishes. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 11:30 AM from THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY to St. Joseph Church at 12:00 PM. Fr. Jerome Leake will officiate with interment in St. Joseph Cemetery.
