Adam Melchi

Adam Robert Edward Melchi, 38 of Plano, IL, passed away unexpectedly Monday, May 28th, 2018 in Indianapolis, IN. He was born in Watertown, Wisconsin on October 31, 1979 to Edward and Deborah (Crawford) Melchi. Adam was a 1998 graduate of Larkin High School in Elgin, Il. He had been employed with the East Aurora School District 131 for seventeen years working in various capacities. During his time there he touched thousands of lives—students, faculty and staff alike. Adam was a lifelong fan of the Indy 500 and particularly, “Team Penske”. He was also a lifetime supporter and fan of U of I. Adam married Sarah Ann (Lavery) Melchi on August 19, 2016 in Yorkville, IL. Together they have three children, Emma Rae Lavery, Jack Thomas Edward Melchi and Delilah Mica Melchi. He cherished his wife and children immensely. Adam has two loving daughters, Alyssa Marie Melchi and Miah Sharon Melchi with Kelly Melchi from his previous marriage. Adam is survived by his wife Sarah (Lavery) Melchi and his five children; his parents Edward and Deborah (Crawford) Melchi; his three sisters Megan (Dean) Hazen, Page (Matthew) Streb and Quinn (Christopher) Murray; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and by his Mother-in-law and Father-in-law, Ray and Kelley (Poirel) Lavery and by his two sisters-in-law, Kelsey and Kathleen Lavery. Adam was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Charles and Helen Melchi and by his maternal grandparents, Robert and Harriet Crawford. “Once a Tomcat, Always a Tomcat!” Visitation will be Sunday, June 3, 2018 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 N. Lake Street, Aurora, IL. 631-631-5500. A brief, liturgical prayer service will be offered immediately preceding the visitation on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at 3:00 pm by Fr. Frederick Peterson, O.S.B. In accordance with Adam's wishes, his ashes will be scattered privately by his family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, monetary contributions to support his wife, Sarah, his children and their families would be appreciated.
